Do you like apples? I do because I strongly believe in the saying, 'An apple a day keeps the doctor away!' So, how about a red and a green 'apple' served as Mopar appetizers at the local quarter-mile racetrack?
Sorry, I couldn't help but think about green and red apples the moment that I saw these two mighty examples of the 'Last Call' 2023 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon 170 muscle car variety. They're not as innocent as the fruit, though, despite their happy and cheerful demeanor when bundled together under a mild Nevada sun one faithful afternoon.

However, the two Mopar examples weren't there to play in the orchard as they clearly meant business – just look at the video feature embedded below and check out their cool pre-race warmup procedures, which include a long and arduous burnout from each vehicle. But what about the setting?

Well, the videographer behind the Wheels Plus channel on YouTube is a big fan of The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, and he witnessed something double-Mopar going on. It's clearly not the first time there's such a close encounter of the (third) muscle car degree, although these collectibles are supposedly in short supply across America (3,000 units) and Canada (300). Alas, it's so nice to see that many owners treat them exactly as Dodge intended to – not with garage-queen kindness but with quarter-mile resolve.

So, the setting is obviously one of the best out there – The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, and the brawlers are also top-notch. In fact, there are very few series-production cars that can equal or surpass their 1,025-hp performance stemming from E85 food and a 6.2-liter supercharged V8 'stomach.' We could name a few – like the Tesla Model S Plaid, Porsche Taycan Turbo GT, and Lucid Air Sapphire, but they're all EVs. That doesn't mean they're worse – just silent and lacking in the burnout department, for sure.

Anyway, let's get this Mopar show going. After carefully aligning at the start line, the two of them are prepared to take off. It's a good moment to pause the video below for a quick second and admire their near-identical lines. Aside from sporting a different color and one having a black hood, even the wheels are the same, so it's going to be anyone's guess about who wins the skirmish. Of course, in the end, there can be only one – although, luckily, the other only suffers the shame of defeat.

Well, as it turns out, it can't get any closer than that – one of the Demons posted a winning ET of 9.71s at 147 mph (237 kph), and the other was a whisker away at 9.72s with a trap speed of 146 mph. Now, if you want to see who's who – because we're not going to spoil the fun – I suggest watching the video embedded below once, twice, or any number of times. I promise it will still be an ICE-powered treat, even on repeat views.
