A new YouTube channel aptly named The Drag Race seeks to make a name for itself on the scene with racer interviews and quarter-mile dragstrip action. As it turns out, it seems the host is John Torres, the videographer behind another outlet focused on big and small, awkward, or exotic races.
It seems that for this new channel, the host of ImportRace has adopted a slightly different approach – instead of just a few words in the description and then letting the action take hold without any human intervention, he also conducts quick track-side interviews with the racers highlighted in the videos.

Just recently, he was at the regular venue – Island Dragway – in Great Meadows, New Jersey. However, don't be so quick to discard it as one of the smaller tracks because even though it's quite smaller than some other facilities like the four-lane The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, it's not at all any less feisty in terms of competitors.

For example, we have seen stuff like a limited-edition 1,025-horsepower 2023 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon 170 get a nasty surprise from a six-second classic muscle car, an awkward meeting between a Ford Mustang Mach-E and a Pontiac G8 GT, or even Tesla Plaids dragging their identical Model S twins. Plus, just recently, there was an orange Plymouth Road Runner that dragged a Chevy Corvette and Buick Regal and even pulled a high-nine victory.

Among the many other cool encounters, there's now footage of how two friends settle the conundrum of who's better at the local racetrack when their rides are almost level on power. More precisely, these two young drivers each have a very different quarter-mile dragstrip tool – one helms a white and carbon fiber 2022 Toyota GR Supra that was massaged to around 500-wheel horsepower while the other faces him with a 2017 Ford Mustang GT 5.0-liter FBO, also with about 500 ponies to the wheels.

That means a couple of factors are very important for the races – the weight of the rides and the drivers' skills. It turns out the latter was mostly on par as none had big gaps in their reaction times, so perhaps the winner of the trio of races was determined by the potential weight difference. Well, as it turns out, Blue Oval fans won't be too happy with the results – the import foe won all three skirmishes as the domestic muscle car struggled to keep up the pace. However, there may be attenuating circumstances – most likely, the GR Supra is an automatic affair, while the Mustang GT is actually a stick shift example.

Last but not least, if you also want something from ImportRace, we can't disappoint you – so here's a recent Chevy Monte Carlo, S10, Camaro, and Corvette series versus just about anything they could find that also had four wheels and steering wheel!
