As that old saying goes, if a tree falls in the forest and there's no one to see it, did it even fall? The modern equivalent of that is that if you experience something and you don't immediately share it online, it's almost as if you never did.
This applies to both good and bad experiences, whether you've just had the most delicious meal or surprise A-list encounter, or been through emergency hospitalization. For rapper 2 Chainz, the latter applies, as he was involved in a reportedly serious 3-car accident in Miami last weekend.
2 Chainz is one of the most popular rappers of his generation, a music mogul, a style icon, and a passionate car collector with a soft spot for custom rides and vintage muscle. According to online reports, he was in town for Art Basel and the launch party of a new collaborative album, which culminated with a huge blowout at a Miami hotspot. 2 Chainz was leaving the party and driving on the I-95 when the collision occurred.
One celebrity publication notes that another passenger car rammed 2 Chainz's vehicle from the rear, pushing it into the boulder and causing severe damage. The word "totaled" is being thrown around, but the state of the vehicle hasn't been verified yet.
This seems to be confirmed by a video the rapper himself posted to social media in the aftermath, as he was being rushed by ambulance to a local hospital. A photo of a black sedan with extensive side and frontal damage is seen in the background as the rapper lies in the back of the ambulance. Presumably, that's his own car because, otherwise, why would he have posted the image to his verified account?
Two other cars were involved.
“The vehicles involved were a 2016 Mercedes, 2013 Nissan and a 2010 Toyota," a statement from the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles says. "There were no fatalities and at least one adult male was transported to an area hospital."
An investigation is underway to determine the causes – and the culprit(s) – of the accident.
No other details have been made public as of the time of press, and 2 Chainz's rep was not immediately available for comment. Beyond the brief IG Live video he posted to his social media, the rapper didn't follow up with more details.
Sources say 2 Chainz suffered neck injuries but was in stable condition. That last part is a given, considering he was well enough to post about his ordeal on social media. After all, ifa tree falls you crash a car and there's no one to see it, did it even happen?
