See that long wheelbase, SVO-badged, quad-pipe and two-tone Range Rover in the photo above? That right there is believed to be the ultra-luxury Range Rover that will purportedly debut at the NYIAS this April.
Spotted by Twitter member Simon Gregg, owner of Bramley Motor Cars, that full-size SUV might turn out to be “the most luxurious Range Rover ever produced,” according to the TFLcar's Andre Smirnov.
The latter publication also published a teaser photo of the 2015 Jaguar XF next to the 2016 Range Rover ultra-luxury model, but there’s a catch to it all. Try running a Google Search for that teaser photo. Results? Nothing. Now try to search for the automaker’s “the most luxurious Range Rover ever produced,” statement. Nada! Pretty mysterious, huh?
There has been a lot of talk about a Bentley Bentayga-rivaling Range Rover enhanced by Jaguar Land Rover’s SVO division, but TLFcar doesn’t seem to have hard evidence regarding that teaser photo’s truthfulness. That leaves Simon Gregg’s photo as the only hard evidence pointing towards this SUV.
With the £180,000 (approximately $287,000 or €230,000) limited-run Holland & Holland Range Rover around, the possibility of an SVO-made ultra-luxury Range Rover is very high. Howbeit, only time will tell if the New York Auto Show is the venue for that range-topping Range Rover to be presented to the world.
In the meantime, check out our reviews of the Range Rover Supercharged and its lil' brother - the Range Rover Sport Supercharged. Both of them are extremely comfortable and both are animated by the same 5-liter supercharged V8 engine pumping a massive 510 PS (503 bhp) and 625 Nm (461 lb-ft) of torque.
