While Land Rover is busy preaching its latest behemoth, the 550 hp Range Rover Sport Supercharged SVR, other people have different plans for the Range Rover Sport. Totally different plans, we may ad.
This is how the Range Rover Sport... pickup truck was born. Before you start thinking about how the Chelsea Tractor nickname doesn’t even come close to being enough for such a creation, you should know that this is merely a rendering - this comes from automotive manipulator Theophilus Chin.
While, as far as we know, the only Land Rover that has rolled off the line in pickup form is the Defender, many have come up with custom bed-gifted incarnations of Range Rovers over the years.
The Range Rover is the usual suspect from this, with conversions running from four-door versions with folding canvas tops and older two-door incarnations to a 1980 Range Rover 6X4.
Still, we’re not aware of any real-world truck based on the Range Rover Sport. That’s quite a pity though - should such a vehicle ever be made, it would probably become the official support vehicle for every football team in the world.
Car washes would appreciate it too - ever wondered who cleans up the trunks of all those Land Rovers people use to go hunting? Come to think of it, perhaps putting and end to hunting would be a better solution to this problem and then the RRS pickup truck can remain in its current virtual form.
