Land Rover said that the Convertible Evoque concept showcased at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show won’t go into production.
Even if the automaker said at that time that they will await some feedback from the crowd on the convertible, they decided to cancel it anyway. They thought that by chopping it they would make a big mistake, as the sloping roofline is one of the most important design elements of the Evoque.

Land Rover might offer a version with a panoramic roof instead in the future, like the ones on the Fiat 500C and Citroen DS3 Cabrio. No Victoria Beckham editions will be made either, as the carmaker still has some unsold ones on inventory.

However, there might be a bright side in this story anyway. The financing for the Evoque Convertible will probably go towards developing of a new Land Rover Defender, a product for a market that was a bit forgotten with all these luxurious SUVs released lately.
