We previously reported that the Fiat Doblo light commercial vehicle will be brought to the US as a Ram vehicle, but it seems that the American brand has even bigger plans, as the company is currently considering also bringing the passenger van version to America, as Automotive News (sub. req.) writes.
Thus, the new Ram vehicle would follow the scheme of its main competitor, the Ford Transit Connect, which also started out in US life as a panel van and then received a passenger version thanks to satisfying sales.
The Fiat Doblo already has a passenger van version (you can see it in the adjacent image), so the job is partially done. However, Fiat is investing 160 million in its join venture site in Turkey in order to make sure that the Ram version, which will be built there, will meet the US standards when it lands on the market in early 2013.
