The Suzuki Swift Sport doesn't find its way into our news section very often. With only a naturally aspirated 1.6-liter engine at its disposal, it's outgunned by the latest generations of turbo hot hatchlings. However, it has a nice chassis setup and is perfect for grassroots motorsport.
What you're about to watch is a short 10-second clip shot during the Rallye de Ourense last month. This history race was established in Spain back in 1967 and gathers quite a few local spectators. They've seen all sorts of crashes over the years but never an amazing save like this one.
Behind the wheel of the Swift Sport is Óscar Barroso, joined by his co-driver David Míguez. While they were negotiating a long high-speed corner in San Pedro de Rocas, the rally-spec Japanese hatch almost gets pushed over and into a nearby stone wall.
That could have ended Barroso's race for good, but with good instincts and a level head, he managed to transition into a two-wheel stance and shortly after puts the Suzuki back on its "feet".
You could argue that the Suzuki Swift is not as fast as an F1 car, but you never see Kimi Raikkonen pulling off stunts like this, now do you?!
