Raikkonen Has Not Called Massa Since the Accident

Felipe Massa revealed that his teammate Kimi Raikkonen is yet to call him and ask about his health. Talking to the media from his home in Sao Paolo, the Brazilian admitted that he has not spoken to the Finnish driver since before his accident at the Hungaroring, but insisted he is not bothered by it. Massa reckons his teammate is more of an introvert type of person and knows he wishes him the best, even if not via a phone call.

Kimi has not called but I saw a video made by Sky (television) with all the drivers. He sent me a card to the hospital,” said Massa, while admitting Raikkonen is a “unique” type of guy and his not calling is “not a problem.

During the last two weekends, following his return to Brazil from Hungary, Massa was visited by long-time friend and countryman Rubens Barrichello and Ferrari team principal Stefano Domenicali at his home in Sao Paolo, both of which wished him a quick and painless recovery. Michael Schumacher also kept contact with his former teammate, as Massa revealed the two have been talking quite a lot over the phone lately.

He told me had had pain in his neck when the car drove over bumps on the circuit,” said Massa, regarding Schu's decision to call off his F1 return.

As for his own chances of making a comeback into the Ferrari F60 in the near future, the Brazilian reckoned he is still not 100% fit for racing, but publicly stated his aim for the remainder of the 2009 season is make the grid for his home grand prix, in Brazil.

I'm still not 100 per cent and my sight in the left eye still isn't 100 per cent. I'm about 85, 90 per cent recovered. There is still a bit to go before I'm back to normal. I hope that I can be back at the Brazilian grand prix for my public, and perhaps even earlier,” said Massa in an interview with Brazilian TV Globo.
