By now, you probably figured out that we simply can’t get enough of the new BMW i8. Ever since BMW finally revealed it in production form at the Frankfurt Motor Show, last year and we realized that it looks a lot like the Concept it was based on, we declared ourselves extremely excited about it.
Case and point: all our pictures. Whenever an i8 is spotted somewhere in the world, we’re there to cover it and drool over its design continuously. We simply can’t stop.

Therefore, when we saw another Protonic Blue spotted in Bergkirchen, Germany, we had to jump on the possibility of sharing it with you.

Just like all the other i8s spotted so far, this one was also wearing the usual ‘Hybrid Test Vehicle’ stickers that won’t go away until June, when deliveries will begin. That didn’t mind us at all.

The special design and shapes this car features might seem like they were put in place just to impress people but, according to BMW, they also have an aerodynamic function, taking the drag coefficient down to 0.26, just shy of the world record, at the moment.

That means that this car really cuts through air like a Katana through butter, helping with both emissions and fuel efficiency. Speaking of, we should point out that the i8 will do 112 miles to the gallon (2.1 l/100km) and will release only 59 grams of CO2 per kilometer into the atmosphere.

362 HP and 570 Nm (420 lb-ft) of torque means you’ll be able to do 100 km/h (62 mph) in 4.4 seconds and that is nearly worthy of supercar status, especially since it’s using only a 1.5-liter 3-cylinder engine.

Sure, the price tag might seem a bit steep for some but at what this car brings, it’s a bargain. Check out the gallery and tell us it isn’t so!
