This video starts nicely, with a guy enjoying a rare spell of open track in front of his car on the Nurburgring.
It then becomes even nicer, as his car is overtaken on the outside just before a fast right-hand turn. The car passing in front is a Porsche 911 GT3 of the 997 generation that seems to know very well what it's doing, driving very cleanly and doing things by the book.

It brakes for the upcoming left turn and then sets off in the distance, making very good use of its 3.6-liter six-cylinder boxer engine developing 415 hp.

And then, disaster strikes. Well, not so much a real disaster as the simple laws of physics that should never be overlooked, especially not when you're going really fast on a race track.

The Porsche 911 GT3 driver, coming out of another fast right turn, showed us why it's never a good idea to brake hard while at speed and having your wheels turned.

The quick succession of turns caught him off guard, so he braked with the car still coming out of a right-hander and thus slightly out of balance. It was enough to make the tail slide out to the left and send the front of the car to graze into the grass.

What happens next is a bit painful to watch, as the 911 GT3 heads straight into the barriers, and with the business end first, no less. That makes it even more hard to watch. It's hard to imagine the damage on the car, but judging by the speed and angle of impact, we'd say it involves some serious cash.

The car is sent back onto the track, but luckily there's nobody there to transform the whole event into a veritable dodgems experience.

That being said, here's the clip below. A word of warning to the Porsche fans: the following clip contains images that could hurt you emotionally.
