Many aficioandos enjoy grabbing machines that are already uber-quick from the factory and take these way above the stock level. Of course, these drivers don't always visit the drag strip, which leads to street racing stunts like the one that brought us here. Note that this battle involves an F90 BMW M5 and a Porsche 911 GT2 RS.
Now, the Porscha and the M car might not strike one as direct rivals. However, given the extensive work done on the twin-turbo 4.4-liter V8 animating the super-sedan, it doesn't come as a surprise that its driver has decided to take on the Rennsport Neunelfer.
While I'm not sure of the exact custom bits and pieces the M5 has been gifted with, the four-door packs around 900 horsepower, at least if we are to listen to Instagram gossip.
Then again, the Porsche wasn't stock either, with the owner having taken the GT2 RS down the aftermarket path after multiple quarter-mile adventures.
The upcoming bend didn't keep the drivers from going at it and here's what the one behind the wheel of the M5 had to say: "The GT2 RS is a beast! We need a rematch on a straight line, because my car can’t go fast like the GT2 RS on the curves. So I had to to let go,"
P.S.: Please keep in mind not to use the shenanigan we have here as an example. In fact, it's best to head over to the drag strip when the hooning urges kick in, as this means one can stay on the safe side and enjoy the prepped surface of the track. Oh, and the people who built the strip also made sure this involves a straight that's generous enough to ensure no driver has to blame a forced liftoff for coming second in a race.
