Aston Martin's name might be synonym to speed and yet you won't find too many Gaydon machines at drag strips. Well, the Aston that brought us here is one of the exceptions, with this being determined to make up for the said absence.
The British toy has undergone a monstrous transformation and it is now a doorslammer - according to the YouTuber who brought the contraption to our attention, this started out in life as a 1970 Aston Martin DBS V8, even though its current body seems to resemble the successor of the model, namely the Virage.

Note that the year of birth has also been confirmed by running a DVLA (Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency) license plate check for the British machine. That's right: this monster is still road-legal.

Regardless, the engine compartment of the machine is now occupied by a 568ci Chevy Big Block. The V8 works with a monstrous 118mm turboharger, which allows it to deliver well past 2,500 ponies.

Mark Todd, the owner of the Aston, delivered the maiden voyage of the DBS V8 back in May on the UK's Santa Pod Raceway. At the time, the toy managed to deliver a 7.81s quarter-mile run at 179 mph.

As it always happen with such builds, those numbers were only provisional. You see, the machine went out again and, one month later, it was able to deliver a 6.93s run, with a maximum velocity of 202 mph.

So, at least as far as I can tell, this is the world's quickest Aston Martin, while also being the kind of machine that could probably make James Bond proud and Valkyrie owners jealous.

And you can use the piece of YouTube footage below to check out the said May adventure devliered by the reinvented 1970s toy, which took the machine to the Santa Pod Raceway for a session of bringing jaws to the floor.
