Ordering the Weissach Package for one's 911 GT2 RS or GT3 RS is a big deal in Porschephile land, where the material and color of the air vent slats are important. So you can imagine that, with a delay for the steering wheel carbon fiber trim, which is part of the W Pack, owners were eager to have the sharp-looking piece installed. Well, this has finally arrived and I've brought along an example.
To those outside the world of Zuffenhausen, paying $18,000 for something that saves 13.4 lb (6.1 kg) might seem odd, but this is only normal for aficioandos. Of course, it's not all about the scale footprint reduction, with the look and the psychological aspects also playing an important part here.

And, as we discussed back in March, one of the CF interior bits and pieces had been delayed, with the reason being a supplier issue. We are now back on the topic, with the social media post at the bottom of the page showcasing a 991.2 GT3 RS that has just had its new wheel trim installed.

According to the owner, who often posts relevant Porsche- and supercar-related content, it's been around one year since the car arrived with the standard plastic covering the steering wheel.

Fortunately, it looks like the swap was completed easily, with no glue being necessary.

So, if you spend enough time online these days, you might see plenty of the GT2 RS and GT3 RS owners jumping for joy thanks to the arrival of the said piece - note that the CF paddles, which are also a part of the package, had been delivered from the begging.

Meanwhile, with the 991.2 generation now retired, we're all waiting for the 992 specials. For instance, the new 911 Turbo should land by the end of the year, while 2020 is expected to bring us the fresh GT3.
