Frankly, getting excited over a photo is stupid, even if it's a naked selfie from a girl you like. But the Porsche Cayman is about to undergo its biggest transformation ever, and we can't keep things bottled up. The Germans have already revealed its sister car, the 718 Boxster. While we await the coupe version, one quick rendering won't hurt anybody.
The Cayman is like a question on wheels: do I really want to have kids and pay for their schooling? For the people who bought one, the answer is usually negative. But how about this question: do I really need a big engine?

Up until now, Porsche has mainly used naturally aspirated engines for its sports cars. As a result, the Cayman had a higher displacement yet less torque than the BMW 1-Series M Coupe and other rivals that have risen recently from the hot hatch market. But now Stuttgart is switching to turbocharged engines with fewer cylinders.

The mid-life facelift for the current Cayman model will come with two turbocharged flat-4 engines. The little 718 Cayman will get the 2-liter with 300 PS while the S model will boast a 2.5-liter rated at 350 PS. The fastest model with PDK and the Sport Chrono Pack should be able to set a blistering 0 to 100 km/h sprint time of only 4 seconds and won't stop until reaching 290 km/h.

Some people will say that the 718 looks like "any other over-rated Porky," but we'd like to think it has perfect proportions. Sure, it hasn't got a phallic front end like a Jaguar, but the curves are as pleasing as a glimpse of Scarlett Johansson's cleavage. Oh, and before we forget, RM Design tinted the taillights and changed the spoiler for this rendering. You may also want to have a look at the front 3/4 view before you go.
