It seems that the Pope is really into EVs. After receiving a small two-seater EV from an Italian company, His Holiness has received yet another one, from Renault. Carlos Ghosn, Chairman of Renault-Nissan, was there for the occasion and personally delivered the Kangoo ZE to the Pontiff.
However, being a special vehicle, it was created in collaboration with French coach builder Gruau, and features white exterior finish, Papal graphics, special suicide-style doors, electrical folding step, as well as a retractable roof.

Powering it along is a 60 hp electric motor - it gives the Kangoo ZE a maximum range of around 170 km (106 miles). We really appreciate that the Pope is so eco-conscious, and we hope that perhaps some of his open-mindedness will trickle down to his ‘followers’.
