Statistics show that the side-by-side industry is worth a lot of money, especially in the U.S. The numbers provided by Market Trends & Insights Mastery, say that on a global level no less than $14 billion worth of such vehicles have been sold in 2022, and prospects are the market will reach a staggering $21 billion by 2028. More than enough reason, then, for one of the largest players on the market to keep updating its products.
That would be Polaris, and the range of products that leads its charge into this market is known as the Ranger. Upgraded each year to meet new demands and get new capabilities, the Rangers are gearing up for a very hot year ahead with the 2025 model year changes, announced this week by the company that makes them.

As usual, these changes are not particularly extensive, but they do target all aspects of the vehicles so that they remain relevant in this competitive environment. Most importantly, though, the family gets a new Ranger model but also welcomes back one of the most appreciated models.

We'll start with the changes Polaris envisioned for the bulk of the Ranger breed, and we'll tell you the side-by-sides, more specifically the ones in XP 1000 and XP 1000 NorthStar guise, now come with a redesigned front end and boast a new bumper and grille.

The two models also come with 29-inch tires fitted as standard now, which means there's an extra inch of clearance to go over rough terrain.

The XP 1000 NorthStar Ultimate is now equipped with a new JBL audio system, while the 1000 Premium and XP 1000 offer right off the factory floor a roof and a 4,500-pound winch with synthetic rope. This kind of hardware comes with autostop and wireless remote.

The entire Polaris Ranger family is now equipped with an upgraded transmission to handle the power of their respective engines, allowing as per Polaris 50 percent less effort when shifting. Revised electric power steering is also included in the package.

On an accessories level the American company decided to make the offering a bit more alluring by throwing on the table stuff like an upper front bumper and a new reverse light harness that will "automatically turn on rear accessory lighting when the vehicle is in reverse or by the flip of a switch when the vehicle is parked."

Starting at an unspecified moment later in the summer, the Ranger vehicles will also be able to receive JBL audio upgrades.

I said earlier that Polaris will be introducing a new Ranger model for 2025, and that is called the Crew XP 1000 NorthStar Texas Edition. As the name says, this one is a vehicle specifically built to tackle the Texas terrain.

What makes the model unique on a visual level is the fitting of a roof, exclusive badging, and cut-and-sewn premium seats. Its capabilities over the Lone Star State's terrain are enhanced by means of the same 29-inch tires fitted across the range, but also A-arms meant to maximize ground clearance.

The vehicle will be offered by Polaris in a single color, bronze pearl metallic, and it will sell for prices starting at $36,999. Just to get your bearings, know that this price means the side-by-side is more expensive than a brand-new Camaro in its entry-level trim.

The exciting Ranger model that makes a comeback for the 2025 model year is the one called Crew XP 1000 Waterfowl Edition. The secrets of its trade are hidden in its name as well, as this one has been specifically imagined for waterfowl hunters, meaning it is capable of getting into flooded and muddy areas.

The vehicle is equipped with 29-inch tires, arched A-arms, a high-mount winch, and an equally high intake. This version of the Ranger is selling from $25,499 and it is available in a specially designed camo paint job.

Polaris says the entire range of Ranger side-by-sides in their 2025 model year incarnation will be available to order starting this month.

Below is the complete list of models that will be available, with their corresponding price stickers. Keep in mind though that's only the starting price, and going through the accessories Polaris offers for them will definitely bring the final total to a higher value.
