After Pininfarina pulls the wraps off their newest creation at the 2018 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance on August 23, the newest addition to the sports cars world should, at least in theory, give established manufacturers a run for their money.
The hypercar that would change everything is called PF0 and is dubbed by Pininfarina the “most powerful Italian sports car ever. ” At Pebble Beach, it will show itself only to prospective owners, before being revealed to the world in full at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show.

The limited information available on the car points to an all-electric hypercar, capable of reaching the coveted 62 mph in less than two seconds. A few moments later, it should be capable of reaching its top speed of 250 mph (402 kph).

There’s no word on the type of battery to be used in the PF0, as the vehicle is still in development, but Pininfarina eyes a maximum range on a single charge of about 300 miles (482 km).

As for the visual details of the car, little is known. In the teaser images released on Thursday, we get only a glimpse at the car’s interior and a few more close-ups and unrevealing shots.

“Our objective with the exterior of PF0 is to design timeless beauty in every aspect, and the interior is equally important,” said in a statement Luca Borgogno, Pininfarina design director.

“Pininfarina’s design values of elegance and simplicity present us with a fantastic opportunity to stand out from the styling of most current sports and hypercars.”

Regardless of the reactions possible owners might have at Pebble Beach, the Italian design house already announced plans to begin production of the PF0 in 2020. Only 150 units will ever be made, each hand-crafted in Cambiano, Italy.

Of course, there is no word on the price yet, but expect it to be extremely high.
