The saying "as the rich keep getting richer, the poor keep getting poorer" probably has a lot of meaning if you translate it into Pakistani. thenews.com.pk has just reported that while the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) is warning against the plummeting foreign exchange reserves and the country's high deficit, the bank governor has just ordered himself an armored Lexus SUV worth 40 million Pakistani rupees ($406,090 or about €300,000) at today's exchange rate.
Of course, there are no official irregularities with the purchase, which has been made for safety reasons. The Aforementioned source approached a company in Karachi who said a bulletproof Nissan Pajero would have cost a quarter less.

The only bulletproof Lexus models we know of are the LS460L long wheelbase sedan and the LX570 SUV. After all, you need a lot of power to carry that extra armor around.
