Christmas is coming and the world isn’t coming to an end. Tis the season to be jolly, but also the season to think about God’s other creatures that share this planet with us.
Being green means buying hybrids and EVs, but also taking care of the environment in other ways, like putting barriers on the side of a highway to stop the wildlife from becoming roadkill.
No such road systems helped this unlucky bird, but it still somehow survived a head-on collision with a pickup truck that was driving at 55 mph (90 km/h).
The brown feathered owl was hit by the front bumper of the Ford truck in Addison County, Vermont. The impact was so violent that severe that the owl went through the plastic grille and got lodged in there. But somehow, it survived a crash that would probably have killed a human.
After a few hours under care and monitoring, it was released back into the wild after it was deduced the owl had not sustained serious injury. How about that for a touching Christmas story!
