An Australian we once met in an airport terminal told us that everything has to have a V8 where he’s from, even his mother’s minivan. However, things have changed the past couple of years, as customers are increasingly preferring compacts.
Australian car preferences are beginning to look European, but they aren’t there quite yet.

Opel has just revealed the Adam city car that will rival the Fiat 500 and MINI Cooper. It will go on sale across Europe starting January 2013 and is built on the Opel Corsa’s SCCS platform.

However, the Adam is not coming to Australia any time soon, as Opel Australia’s Public Relations and Events Manager Melanie Kerin told CarAdvice that they have no plans in the immediate future to introduce the Adam”.

Currently, the brand is working on the launch of the Corsa, Astra hatch and Astra GTC coupe, as well as the Insignia, all arriving this September.

Mihnea's favorite cars have already been built, the so-called modern classics from the '80s and '90s. He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
