When designing a camper van conversion, it's best to leave nothing to chance – ideally, every single inch should be maximized. Today, I stumbled upon a conversion boasting a practical layout with an innovative detail that deserves a spotlight.
What we have here is a converted 2019 Ram ProMaster van created by Climb Entertainment, a company dedicated to building any bus or van. These guys specialize in party buses and have come up with crazy builds, such as a mobile spa, a video game bus, a mobile man cave, and more.

But today's build lies more toward the normal side, with a significant focus on livability and comfort and plenty of luxurious touches.

Starting from the exterior, you'll notice this van has quite a stealthy look, with nothing indicating the fact it's a camper. If you have a keen eye, you might spot the 100-liter (26-gallon) freshwater tank mounted underneath the vehicle. While we're on this topic, you'll also find a 60-liter (16-gallon) greywater tank nearby.

The inside is where you'll find the genuinely distinctive features. You probably won't be wowed by the interior design, but this rig prioritizes comfort and practicality.

As soon as you enter, you'll notice an open layout, with the driver's cabin not separated from the living area. Instead, the driver's and passenger's seats can be swiveled, and there's a table for each of the seats. What's more, this van's makers reupholstered them with leather.

The driver's cabin also comes with some useful storage spots – there are four overhead shelves, two of which are very spacious. Other notable features in this area are a Maxxair fan and a Webasto diesel heater installed under the passenger's seat.

Walk deeper into the van, and you'll find the wet bathroom on your right. Open the sliding door, and you'll discover a sizeable space fitted with a porta potty, a shower, a teak shower mat, and a ceiling LED puck.

By the way, one thing I dislike about the interior design is the lighting. First, there are no side windows besides the main door, so you only get light from the front and the rear of the van, as well as a bit from the ceiling fans. That's not the deal breaker – my issue is with the LED lighting. The builders could've gone for a softer color instead of the harsh white. Another suggestion would be to add more strips.

That brings me to the next point: there's too much white inside this van – the cabinets are white, the galley kitchen is white, and many other features around the interior are finished in white. Needless to say, it makes the interior harder to maintain clean, and it doesn't help the van's overall aesthetic either.

On the opposite side of the bathroom, the builders devised a galley kitchen. It might not look like much at first, but it's a complex and cleverly designed feature. Toward the entrance, you'll find the dual-section fridge mounted on a 500-lb. (227-kg) drawer slide.

On the top part, you'll notice a solid wood Acacia countertop with a huge integrated sink. For storage, you can use the galley's multiple drawers. In fact, you'll notice this van's builders have a preference for drawers. For instance, they devised a drawer-mounted chopping board and integrated the induction cooktop in, you guessed it, a drawer.

However, there's a slight problem with them. They come with a push-to-open mechanism, which, in this van's case, can't withstand a tougher ride, as they open by themselves from the bumps. This is one reason why van builders usually choose latches.

Right beside the bathroom, you'll find the "main storage hub" consisting of, what a surprise, drawers again - these ones are the largest in this rig. Luckily, not all the storage spaces are drawers. For example, Climb Entertainment fitted two massive cabinets with acrylic sliding doors.

Next up, we have the bedroom/lounge area, which is by far the most innovative part of this van. On the passenger side of the rig, the builders added a spacious bench reupholstered the same as the front seats. The electrical system is housed underneath it, featuring a 2,000 W inverter, solar charge controller, a lithium battery setup, and more.

The "pièce de résistance" of this camper conversion is the working desk/ bed – yes, you read that right. In the day setup, you can sit on the bench and pull a large slide-out wooden desk, complete with integrated storage. There are many plugs around, so two or more people could sit there and work.

Once you've clocked off and you're ready to go to sleep, you can extend the "burrito bed" over the working desk until it rests on the bench's backboard. It's that easy; there's no need to rearrange the cushions and mounting wooden planks like in other camper vans. One downside is that the bed is quite compact, so taller people won't be able to lie down flat.

All in all, what makes this van special is the bed setup, which deserves some praise. But besides that, it has some drawbacks that can't be ignored.
