Venetian design studio Nuvolari Lenard is working on a new range of NL-branded custom yachts that combine all the best features modern yachtsmen have come to expect from a superyacht.
The new series is called simply NL 50 Plus and is being developed in collaboration with Turkish shipbuilder Mengi Yay and yacht brokerage partner Camper & Nicholsons. The first unit is already under construction, and according to the Italian studio, the essence of the project is in the details, incorporating a highly efficient hull, the best Italian style, and a balanced layout complemented by the finest finishings. All in one neat 499 GT package.

In the world of yacht design, Nuvolari Lenard is a name that is associated with iconic vessels built by the likes of Lurssen, CRN, Perini Navi, and Oceano. The design studio has been turning clients' dreams into maritime marvels since 1992, and each of their projects is a display of design prowess and innovation.

The recently unveiled NL 50 Plus is no exception. Designed with an imposing, elegant profile, generous deck spaces, luxury amenities, and customizable interiors, this new yacht is a true masterpiece that captures the essence of the perfect superyacht. Not to mention, the Italian design studio says it will be built to "an advantageous timeframe."

Measuring 170 feet (52 meters) in length, the NL 50 Plus is built on a reliable platform optimized for low fuel consumption and minimal noise on the water. It boasts a highly efficient hull designed by Dutch naval architects at Van Oossanen, a sleek exterior that strives for timeless elegance, being characterized by a sharp bow, long, straight lines, and oodles of glazing, and generous interiors that can be customized to meet the owners' tastes and fantasies.

Standout features of this luxury superyacht include "one of the largest sundecks in her category," which comes complete with a heated spa pool and a fire pit, and a vast beach club area with hydraulic opening terraces that extend over the water and flank an integrated custom pool. Another highlight of the design is an impressive foredeck lounge with an open-air cinema setup.

In order to allow guests onboard to truly enjoy the water, the superyacht features a spacious full-beam garage positioned forward that can house a 23-foot (7-meter) tender, a crew tender, and various water toys. Remarkably, the design is cleverly thought out to ensure usability even when underway in order to align with the Mediterranean lifestyle.

Moreover, the NL 50 Plus has been envisioned with an interior layout that offers plenty of scope for customization, serving as a canvas for the owners to add their personal touches. Accommodation is offered for up to ten guests across five luxurious staterooms, with additional cabins for a crew of nine.

As in most modern superyachts, the owner is treated to a generous master cabin equipped with the latest amenities. In this case, we're talking about a 538-square-foot (50-square-meter) suite with a slide-out balcony located forward on the main deck.

"The sliding balcony has a couple of modes—when closed, it leaves a little space outside where you can hang out by opening the window door," explains
Carlo Nuvolari. "It's perfect to take the air or to enjoy the view of the sea and surroundings day or night."

The remaining guest staterooms are all finished to VIP standards and are situated on the lower deck. Other onboard amenities worth mentioning include an owner's study, a gym, and a sauna.

Imbued with timeless elegance, the living quarters combine classic and contemporary elements. The spaces are bright and airy with expansive glazing that creates a seamless connection to the outdoors and allows guests to enjoy the surrounding ocean views, while the choice of colors creates a calming and relaxing atmosphere. Though the team at Nuvolari Lenard has prepared various decor options for the prospective owner, the interior is entirely customizable to ensure it perfectly fits the client's lifestyle.

Apart from the seamlessly flawless design, another aspect that sets the NL 50 Plus apart is its creators' commitment to timely delivery. Nuvolari Lenard explains that the use of pre-engineered modules in the yacht's construction helps speed up the build process, ensuring quicker delivery than comparable yachts while still allowing for customization.

"It's one of an owner's main expectations to have the yacht in a reasonable time and through an exciting process that involves them but does not cause them stress," the studio states. To achieve this, they chose a reliable partner to build the yacht. Mengi Yay is a shipyard with a solid legacy in yacht construction and is already in charge of two other projects designed by Nuvolari Lenard.

In terms of performance, the superyacht will be equipped with twin Caterpillar engines that will propel it to a top speed of 16.5 knots (19 mph or 30.5 kph) and a cruising speed of 12 knots (14 mph or 22 kph). In the realm of superyachts, individuality and excellence is what clients are expecting, and the new NL 50 Plus design seems to tick all the boxes.
