Let's be honest about it: the transition from Lightning to USB-C ended up becoming a major challenge for the Apple customer base despite the whole thing coming down to just a simple new port installed on the iPhone 15.
The European Union requires all device makers selling electronics, including tablets and phones, to equip their devices with USB-C beginning in 2024. Apple wanted to comply with the new regulations a year earlier, so the iPhone 15 no longer sports the company's proprietary port but USB-C.

Charging an iPhone 15 has become a major pain in the neck for many buyers, especially in cars where not all cables can be used to run CarPlay.

Fortunately, companies building iPhone accessories stepped in and released accessories to address this problem, and now it's Nomad's turn to come up with more goodies to help iPhone owners behind the wheel.

The first new product the company unveiled this week is simply called Mount. If you've been checking out car phone accessories lately, you're probably familiar with the concept, as the Mount is a basic product that can be installed in your vehicle's vents and then keep the iPhone in place using magnets. The device works with any MagSafe-enabled device and promises to securely hold it even when going through potholes or speed bumps. The Mount carries a $45 price tag.

Nomad also announced an upgraded version that includes charging support. Called Charge Mount, it packs 7.5W charging speed for the iPhone but can deliver up to 15W for other devices. Like its more basic sibling, the Charge Mount can be installed in any horizontal and vertical vehicle vent and works with any MagSafe device.

It's more expensive than the model without charging, so it's available for $80. The box includes a USB-C car charger and a cable.

If you're specifically looking for a car charger to charge your iPhone 15, Nomad unveiled a new product called 70W Car Charger. It doesn't do anything special, though it promises 70W charging speeds via two USB-C PD ports. Its design is rather basic, though I expect it to feel premium and study, but as long as it charges the iPhone at the promised speeds, it should be worth its price. The device can be yours for $60.

If you still struggle with the iPhone in your vehicle and can't run CarPlay, your best option is the official USB-A to USB-C cable listed in the Apple Store and produced by Anker. Keep in mind that your car must come with a USB-A port for CarPlay. If you own a newer vehicle whose CarPlay support relies on a USB-C port, you can always stick with the cable in the box, as it sports USB-C on both ends (to connect to the car and the iPhone).
