Nissan Race Academy is Back

Japanese carmaker Nissan has just announced that its Race Academy is opening its gates for the second year in a row, looking for drivers ready to battle for the overall Top Gun title. The 370Z customers will join the GT-R buyers in competing for the ultimate Nissan performance driving champ.

The Nissan Race Academy is hosted by the famous Silverstone circuit and anyone who buys a 370Z or a GT-R by the end of September gains automatic entry into the academy’s ranks.

“Between now and November over 600 adrenaline junkies will enroll in the Academy, opening their eyes to the true performance potential of their new Nissans and honing their own driving skills within the safe confines of the home of British motor racing – Silverstone,”
the company says in a statement.

“Some of the fastest racing drivers in the country will be on hand to help new recruits to polish their skills in both 370Z and GT-R models. And to add some healthy competition, there’s the prize of a lifetime on offer for the quickest driver of the lot…”

The participants will have to give their best and will face a number of demanding sessions. However, their efforts will be repaid. For example, the driver that sets the fastest times in these sessions will compete against other 20 drivers of the year for the title of Nissan Race Academy Top Gun 2009.

The overall Top Gun drivers are then entering the Dunlop Sport Maxx Cup behind the wheel of a specially prepared 370Z.

Moreover, those who test drive a 370Z by the end of September will be eligible for an exclusive prize draw to win the entry to the driving skills training school.
