Nissan’s Middle East branch has published a teaser video on its YouTube account. It teases a GT-R Nismo, and it also mentions the term “World Record.” It is natural to believe Nissan’s GT-R Nismo has broken a world record, but the company did not say what the challenge was.
However, it did promise to release more information soon, so we will know more on that once it is officially announced.
Until then, we can only speculate on what Nissan has prepared to be so pride on the GT-R Nismo and what “World Record” refers to. We suspect that the Japanese carmaker has taken advantage of the recent lift of speed restrictions on the Nurburgring and managed to get a better lap time on the most demanding track in the world.
Three years ago, a Nissan GT-R Nismo allegedly achieved a time of seven minutes and eight seconds on the Nurburgring, with a couple of extra hundredths of a second for good measure.
However, Nissan’s latest teaser shows a landscape that does not look anything like the Nurburgring. Instead, it resembles Asia or the Middle East. The perfect tarmac shown in the video has a few tire marks on it, while you can spot mountains and a city in the horizon.
The vehicle has a sequential gearbox that is operated by a racing-style lever, and the driver is wearing full race attire. Another close-up of the car shows a bolt-on body kit, a set of beautiful Nismo rims, and slotted rear brake discs. The GT-R Nismo shown is performing a burnout, followed by a launch to show tremendous acceleration.
We then see the car being chased by the camera and manage to take a look at the front fender, which also features a wide-body kit. The side-sills also have a package tailored for them, while the front bumper seems to integrate other modifications. The hood has a set of generous “gills” and scoops, showing that some changes have been done under it.
