Nissan GT-R Facelift New Photos and Details

No more than a day has passed since we brought you the first images showing the facelifted version of the high-performance GT-R and a new set of images, accompanied by new pieces of information, which have been released by Nissan.

Overall, the technical specs of the new GT-R still remain hidden in the Nissan PR departments for now, but apparently the Japanese carmaker is planning a more powerful model with the release of the facelifted version.

Rumor goes the current output levels of the 3.8l twin turbo V6 engine will be pushed above the 500 hp and 600 Nm of torque threshold, thanks to the extra 20 or 30 hp. That increase in power will be felt right away on the track, if we take into account the fact that the car's drag coefficient will be dropped from 0.272 to 0.268. The downforce will also be improved by 10 percent.

Nissan will manage to improve the drag coefficient of the vehicle with the help of the new front and rear diffusers integrated into the bumpers. A new set of wheels will also be offered, to give the car both a cleaner look and better grip.

The new GT-R will be more expensive than the current generation. However, the new GT-R will continue to be offered in several versions, with the base one to remain the Pure Edition. The entry level price for the upgraded GT-R is said to be $103,000 (EUR81,480), while the top of the range Premium Edition will be sold for $112,000 (EUR88,600).

Additional information about the model are likely to keep on being released, so stay tuned for further updates.
