Nissan Grand Livina Launched in Vietnam

The Nissan assault in Vietnam began this week with the launch of the Nissan Grand Livina MPV, the very first locally-built Nissan. The seven seater MPV will be priced from 611,009,000 Vietnam Dong to 658,759,000 Vietnam Dong.

The Livina comes powered by a 1.8l MR18DE engine which develops 126 ps and 174 Nm of torque at 4,800 rpm. The unit is paired with an electronically controlled CVTC, but will also be offered an electronically controlled four-speed automatic transmission or six-speed manual transmission.

Two trim levels will be available, as well as four colors: pacific blue, pearl grey, yellowish silver and sapphire black. There's no word yet on what options and featrures the Livina comes packing.

"We are very pleased to celebrate the official launch of the Nissan Grand Livina today and accelerate our market presence with the first locally assembled vehicle in Vietnam. We look forward to bringing our customers here well-engineered Nissan vehicles that will deliver on driving pleasure and overall vehicle satisfaction," said Flemming Eltang, general director at NVL, the distributor of the Livina.

The addition of the Livina bring the total number of Nissan models in Vietnam to eight. Still the sales in the country are very poor. For all the Livina model, NVL has set a sales target of only 2,000 units.

"Vietnam is one of the key global automotive markets, and we are glad to mark the important milestone in the market today," Toshiyuki Shiga, chief operating officer of Nissan Motor said.
