You’d think all the rich skaters out there are about driving the oppulent and exotic type of cars, but in fact some of them actually find the classic growl more interesting. It’s the case of the ex-skater and owner of The California-based skateboard accessory and clothing line, Diamond Supply, Nicky Diamonds. He filmed his 1969 Chevrolet Chevelle while stomping on the beast's acceleration pedal and it's hard not to love what we see and hear.
We recently wrote about Nicky Diamonds’ Rolls-Royce Wraith and his little trip to the Playboy Mansion. Well, event though it looks like this celebrity cares more for the gentle luxury type of car, you’ll want to know that he actually is the happy owner of a wider collection.
One of the rides he likes to show off is his 1969 Chevrolet Chevelle, also known as “America’s most popular mid-size car”... back in its day. We are talking about a classic that comes with great looks and features. A single chrome bar connected quad headlights, and a slotted bumper held the parking lights. Taillight lenses were larger and more vertical, flowing into the quarter panels. And we don’t even want to go into the specifics.
Anyway, before you watch the video, you’ll want to know the 1969 Chevrolet Chevelle was produced with only minor styling changes, including news taillamps. As to the engine, the standard one came with the L72 427 V8 rated at 425 horsepower. That's a lot, even by today's standards.
