Just recently, we have seen an infusion of camouflaged cars shedding not their wacky-colored wraps but rather spilling all the beans on techy details – Skoda Superb and Kodiaq CUV plus the all-new next-gen VW Passat were chief among them.
Skoda will feature a double premiere of the Superb in liftback sedan and Estate form alongside the mid-size Kodiaq crossover SUV this coming November. But I really feel they should just gather around a funky event area and have the camouflage shed alongside the VW Passat, too. Let me explain.

When we initially found out about the fully redesigned Skoda Kodiaq and Superb's schedule to debut this fall, both were standing in the aurora borealis' limelight and trying to compete with the northern lights with their funky camouflage. Alas, it was still a regular black-and-white affair, irrespective of the artistic pattern. More recently, though, things have started to change for the colorful better.

For example, in June, Skoda spilled the juicy technical beans on the second-gen Kodiaq and presented a nice set of photos with the crossover SUV flagship dressed in yellow-black camouflage. Then, in July, the Czech company also revealed most of the features and specifications of the Superb Estate while the prototype was wearing a neon green-and-black 'dress.'

But wait, as the latter is twinned with the Volkswagen Passat that is ditching its traditional sedan body style in favor of the Variant version – and the German company also joined the quirky camo party with the station wagon rocking a red-black pattern to 'try' and conceal the exterior goodies. Of course, some people are pretty good at seeing through the ruse – and will even do something like virtually stripping the camouflage from the upcoming mid-sizer.

Of course, that's a case for the detectives of the imaginative realm of digital car content creators to investigate. And, no worries, plenty of them are ready and willing to shed light on the matter. First, Nikita Chuicko, the virtual artist better known as kelsonik on social media, thinks now is the right CGI time to fiddle with the VW Passat Variant based on the teasers.

The silver treatment is more than traditional if you ask us – but luckily, the pixel master is putting his digital project into the proper perspective with a quick comparison to both the teased prototype as well as the current generation. And that's a sure way to reveal the changes, while subtle, are quite ample indeed.

Secondly, Kleber Silva, a Brazil-based virtual artist known as KDesign AG on social media, has decided to have a biased CGI opinion on the Passat matter. His visual project is a little different from the teased prototype and tries to extract a bit more additional personality by mixing design elements from the all-electric ID.7 and the Chinese VW Lamando plus the restyled VW Touareg! So, which one is your digital favorite?
