New Skoda Yeti Waxes a Yeti's Back

Skoda UK is keen to show that its new Yeti is not a big van with non-permanent all-wheel drive, but a capable vehicle that can do all kinds of things. But rather then let the marketing teams decide, Skoda launched a web challenge where you, the people, decide the challenges for them.
With 65% of people wanting to see the Yeti race a mountain biker in the snow, it was only natural Skoda made that happen. The spirit of the Top Gear challenges is evident, especially in the fact that some of the stunt sequences are shot in slow motion and thus look a bit staged. But as a way to promote the Yeti, it doesn't get much better than a rally driver and treacherous snow conditions, so we'll let Skoda's stunt off with a warning.

A far more daring challenge sees the Yeti SUV being used to pull the back hair off a man that looks like the abominable snow creature himself. With a bit in his mouth and holding onto a stool for dear life, the victim of this experiment looks like he's being flogged and will remain scorched onto our retinas for quite a while.

On a funny but somewhat unrelated note, did you hear the joke about the Yeti? If the Octavia and Fabia are named after the daughters of the company founder, is the Yeti named after the illegitimate son.
