Handling the sheer power of any modern-day Porsche 911, especially a GT3 RS, which is a track beast in disguise, can be tricky, which is why some owners have crashed them. The latest incident involving such a model came directly from Washington State in the U.S. of A., where the supercar pictured below met its maker in a horrible way.
Details surrounding the moments before the crash are unknown, yet it appears that speeding was involved, causing the driver to lose control of the wheel. The Porsche 911 GT3 RS in question plunged into the Snoqualmie River, sinking to the bottom quickly.

Fortunately, the person holding the wheel survived this horrific accident, although reports indicate he suffered a blow to the head. Moreover, he didn't enjoy his new toy that long, as the temporary license plate seen at the car's rear end reveals that he had only recently acquired it.

After plunging into the river, this Porsche 911 GT3 RS slept with the fish before being rescued. Pulling it out of the water over some large rocks has probably left it with even more bruises. The German machine had its left rear quarter panel destroyed, along with the rear windscreen, bumper, and other components. It also lost the front left wheel, fender, and driver's side mirror, as revealed in the images shared on a Facebook group.

Bringing it back to its original glory is going to cost the owner a small fortune. After all, we're looking at a car that starts at a hefty $241,300 before destination, title, registration, delivery, dealer fees, etc, in the United States. Nevertheless, landing one for a quarter of a million bucks is easier said than done, as some copies have changed hands for double the money, whereas others are still listed for grabs for a similar amount.

Powering the latest iteration of the Porsche 911 GT3 RS is a 4.0-liter flat-six engine with no forced induction. The naturally aspirated motor, which can be revved up to 9,000 rpm, produces 518 horsepower (525 ps/386 kW) at 8,500 rpm and 342 pound-foot (464 Nm) of torque at 6,300 rpm.

Ask the Zuffenhausen auto brand how quick the 2024 model is, and they will tell you that it can reach 184 mph (296 kph) with summer tires on its feet. The 0-60 mph (0-97 kph) is a three-second affair, and this model can run the quarter-mile in 10.9 seconds when fitted with the optional Sport Chrono Package.

Porsche North America offers the 2024 911 GT3 RS with a 4-year/50,000-mile (80,467 km) warranty, whichever comes first. The paint warranty is identical. The limited corrosion warranty is 12 years with unlimited miles, and a 24-hour roadside assistance program also covers this model.
