New Mobile Site for Volkswagen US

The North American division of Volkswagen has announced that it has just launched a new mobile site, compatible with all web-enabled cell phones and mobile devices. The company’s new smart phone-optimized mobile website comes to help the consumers and owners finding necessary information while on the road.

Let’s take the potential owners for example. Instead of doing their research from home (as they should), they could gather the information they need about Volkswagen vehicles while on their way to the dealership. Moreover, if something needs to be clarified, they can contact the dealership through the mobile site, as the number is just a click away.

The web design has been developed by the AKQA agency, the same which recently worked on Mclaren’s online showroom for the MP4-12C. In fact, customers can easily find the most important information from the company’s website, only customized to suit a mobile site.

This means that it offers access to the company’s full range of models, and links to national and regional special offers as well. In addition, visitors can also download for free exclusive ringtones and wallpapers featuring popular imagery and sounds from recent Volkswagen advertising.

"When we designed our mobile site, we kept in mind that many of today's consumers are constantly on the go,"
explains Charlie Taylor, general manager of digital marketing and motorsports for Volkswagen, in a statement for the press. "We focused on location-based services such as the ability to find a dealer, schedule a test drive, and get a quote," added Taylor.

It appears that there are over 270 million mobile consumers in the U.S., the CTIA Wirelless Association reports, which represents 88 percent of the population, so Volkswagen of America has a wide target to address to.
