In fact, this is the second racing game released by the German manufacturer for marketing purposes. The new Polo was featured in the “Volkswagen Polo challenge” racing game back in March, and it had more than 1.4 million downloads in just four weeks.
The animated race circuit in which the “Scirocco R 24 hour Challenge” takes place is, in fact, quite similar to the Nurburgring, having the same difficult corners and expansive landscape. Just like with any game, there are different difficulty levels that need to be completed in order to qualify for the next round.
Therefore, you get to drive the Scirocco R in three different play modes, namely the qualifying mode, 24 hour mode and multiplayer mode (via Bluetooth). Sound effects are also included, and additionally you can customize the car with different exterior finish.
The Scirocco R is actually the most powerful production Scirocco ever built. Its 265hp 2-liter turbocharged engine allows the car to sprint from naught to sixty in 6.5 seconds (6.4 seconds with the DSG gearbox) and keep on accelerating until reaching an electronically limited top speed of 155 mph (250 km/h).
The two-wheel drive model also received other features that increase its aggressive look, including LED daytime running lights, a lower ride height, new 18-inch rims, gloss black rear diffuser, twin exhaust pipes and tinted rear lights.
