New Kia Soul Hamstar and White Tiger Special Editions Announced

First presented in concept forms at last year’s SEMA Show in Las Vegas, the Hamstar and White Tiger projects have received positive feedback, which made Kia launch two special edition models that use the same designations. While pricing for the Hamstar is to be announced closer to the market launch, the White Tiger has a MSRP of $20,695.

Created to celebrate the “This or That” commercial which features the popular Kia hamsters, the Hamstar special edition is due to arrive this spring with various extra features added.

Highlights of the Soul Hamstar Special Edition include body colored bumpers, sport rear spoiler, black 18-inch alloy wheels, black fender vents with side marker repeater, rear bumper applique, matte black fuel door, Hamstar exterior graphics, black leather seat trim, heated front seats, leather wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, unique Hamstar floor mats, push button start with smart key, automatic climate control. and front fog lights.

On the other hand, the Soul White Tiger Special Edition comes with features such as Clear White with Grey exterior graphics, body colored bumpers, sport rear spoiler, black 18-inch alloy wheels, black fender vents with side marker repeater, rear bumper applique, alloy fuel door, black leather seat trim, heated front seats, leather wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, push button start with smart key, illuminated sill plates, automatic climate control and front fog lights.

The aforementioned special edition Soul models follow on the success of the automaker’s previous four editions - Denim, Ignition, Shadow Dragon and Ghost.

In 2012, the Soul model will feature Kia's first in-car hands-free communication and entertainment system, UVO powered by Microsoft which will give drivers the possibility to safely and efficiently interact with the in-vehicle technologies as they keep their hands on the steering wheel at all times.
