Honda clearly wants more of the C segment and the refreshed Civic shows it aplenty, bringing out a new look but also a Tourer and Sport version. While the first one is basically a variation of the boyd style, the Sport version is meant to be a step between the regular models and the Type R. At the Paris Motor Show 2014, we got to see all of them, in the flesh and we’re introducing them to you as well.
Both the Civic and Civic Tourer are now featuring new styling cues on the outside, with revised front and rear ends. Up front there are new headlamps with integrated daytime running lights and a new bumper altogether. On the hatchback, the rear rear bumper, side skirts and rear spoiler in black make a distinct combination with the LED lamps.
Inside the car, the 2015 models will be getting more features like new fabrics for the seats, contrasting stitching on the headrests and new door trims with chrome door handles. The control panel will now be finished in metallic black. As you can tell, all of these are small details taken separately but as a whole, they give the new cars a better feel on and off the road.
Since we’re discussing the insides, we should also mention the new Honda Connect in-car audio and information system as they call it. The infotainment system now offers digital and internet radio as well as Bluetooth connectivity, internet browsing, satellite navigation and a rear-facing camera. There are also active safety systems on board now like City Brake Active that come as standard.
For more practicality, the Civic Tourer offers 147 more liters of baggage space in the boot compared to the 477 liters offered by the hatchback.
The new Civic Sport is basically the same hatchback powered by a 1.6-liter 120 HP diesel engine or an 1.8-liter 142 HP petrol one, coming with a couple of specific features on the outside. Such features include the color matching rear spoiler, 17” unique alloy wheels and a new front bumper that has a lower grille mesh in black together with similarly colored roof lining. All engines are now EU6 compliant.
Availability and pricing haven’t been announced yet but expect the new Civic models to reach dealerships around the end of the year in dealerships worldwide. Until then, check out our photo gallery, below.
