I know what you're thinking right now. "Meh, another new Honda Civic? Why bother? Nobody cares, people buy Civics like home appliances." Even though this nameplate (and the Toyota Corolla) is something in the vein of a four-wheeled equivalent of a soft drink can, the 2016 Honda Civic in sedan guise isn't a forgettable sight by compact car standards.
Courtesy of the CivicX.com forum, we can now present you with the underlying beauty designers encapsulated into the newest generation of one of the three best-selling Honda models in the US. More specifically, the current Civic sold fewer units than the CR-V and Accord because the 2014 model year Civic wasn't extremely well received by the public.

So what's new?

Well, everything. The 2016 Honda Civic you can admire in the photos below will go on sale late this year, sporting the boomerang-style taillights and sleek greenhouse of the Civic Concept unveiled at the 2015 New York Auto Show. Due to the full-LED headlights, the 2016 Civic here appears to be the Touring model.

What strikes us most though is the uniqueness of the front fascia design and the sloped roofline. If anything, the coupe will be a real showstopper. The "most ambitious remake" in the Civic's 43-year history is animated by a 1.5-liter four-cylinder turbo gasoline engine coupled to a 6-speed manual. As an option, Honda will over the 2016 model year Civic with a CVT transmission. Another engine option is set to be offered in the future, but nobody knows what to expect. A 2-point-Oh turbo? Nobody knows right now...

Although we can't see the cabin design from the photographs taken by an observant member of the CivicX forum, our spy photographers are here to the rescue. The name of the game here is a large infotainment screen, heated rear seats, and, at last, a traditional dashboard layout. Thank God someone at Honda was brave enough to make the 2016 Civica more compact car-like. At last, Honda took inspiration from what Coca-Cola did with the aluminum can and realized that a consumer product doesn't have to look bland.
