New Entry Level Mitsubishi Lancer for the UK

The EvoX-inspired Mitsubishi Lancer gets a new entry level trim for the United Kingdom market. Mitsubishi Motors UK wanted to step up and meet the current global market conditions with an appealing equipment kit for the Lancer.

The car which received a 5-star rating for safety from the Euro NCAP institution has been equipped with several features meant to attract customers while still retaining an affordable price tag. The new Lancer added to the Mitsubishi line up is called the SE.

This version is a 4-door family saloon that features a 1.5 liter MIVEC VVT petrol engine which achieves a fuel consumption level of 44 mpg UK (36.6 mpg US). The Lancer SE gets a very alluring level of standard specification that include 16 inch alloy wheels, driver's knee airbags, side and curtain airbags, metallic paint and front fog lights.

The interior is equipped with nice features, among which we count things like Bluetooth connectivity, air conditioning, iPod input, steering wheel audio and Bluetooth controls and CAT 1 car alarm. The Lancer SE is priced at 12,499 pounds.

The SE version is fitted with a manual transmission that, combined with the 1.5-liter in-line four engine, enables the car to sprint from 0 to 62 mph in 11.6 seconds and return a combined CO2 emissions level of 153 grams per kilometer.

The new entry level SE version for the Lancer comes with a 3-year unlimited mileage warranty and pan-European roadside assistance (all 50 European continental countries). For an extra 275 pounds, customers can choose the Mitsubishi Service Plan which covers the vehicle's first three scheduled services. The Lancer SE is reported to have a 12,500 mile service intervals.
