Opel Vivaro Combi ecoFLEX Rolled Out

While the company struggles to resolve its financial issues and find a new investor to keep it alive, Opel remains keen on its product plans and today introduces the Vivaro Combi ecoFLEX. The new member of the ecoFLEX family is powered by a 2.0-liter CDTI engine that generates 114 horsepower and mated to an automated Easytronic six-speed manual transmission.

Since it's an ecoFLEX model, fuel efficiency and CO2 emissions are the two most important attributes. Well, Opel says the new model is a really outstanding vehicle from this point of view as it burns up to 7.4 liters of diesel per 100 km (31.8 mpg) while releasing 194 grams of CO2 every kilometer. "With these impressive values, the Vivaro reduces CO2 emissions by 19 grams CO2, saving 0.6 liters of fuel per 100 km," Opel said.

The nine-seater is also available with a manual transmission that brings slightly different figures: fuel consumption of 7.5 l/100 km (31.3 mpg) and CO2 valure of 199 g/km.

"The Vivaro ecoFLEX versions, part of Opel’s low fuel consumption and reduced-CO2 line, feature special injection nozzles as well as modified engine management, demonstrating how fuel consumption can be further reduced with the help of affordable, intelligent technology," Opel presented some of the technology that contribute to the overall reduction of fuel consumption and CO2 emissions.

For those of you looking for an alternative commercial vehicle with high fuel efficiency, Opel is also offering the Combo ecoFLEX, a van powered by a 1.3 CDTI engine that emits just 134 g/km and consumes 5.1 liters of diesel per 100 km.
