Aston Martin had a tremendously good 2023, with the British automaker redesigning the DB11 into the DB12 and the Formula 1 team finishing the season in fifth place. Today, the Gaydon-based company has unleashed the refreshed Vantage and two racing cars in the form of the AMR24 and Vantage GT3.
Best described as being a strong evolution of the AMR23, the newcomer stands out with the help of a new rear wing and nose. There's no denying that Aston Martin also worked its magic on the underbody. As far as the Vantage GT3 is concerned, we're dealing with three significant improvements.

First and foremost, Aston Martin's racing division boasts a reworked aerodynamic package. The name of the game is downforce. As opposed to the old Vantage GT3, which tended to dive under braking, the new car promises better stability when preparing for the corner entry. The larger front grille results in larger ducts channeling air to the foremost brakes.

Even the carbon-fiber nose was redesigned, with Aston Martin shortening the splitter, therefore moving the center of pressure rearwards to reduce pitch. The wheel-arch louvers up front reduce lift, whereas the larger louvers out back reduce drag.

Under the skin, Aston Martin revised the suspension for improved progression and stability under braking. The Brits also wax lyrical about state-of-the-art electronics, although Aston Martin Lagonda couldn't be bothered to explain how big and what kind of changes were performed in this regard.

Even though it's a pretty different animal from the road-going Vantage, the Vantage GT3 packs the AMG-sourced V8 of the road car. Of course, said twin-turbocharged V8 is connected to a sequential transmission rather than a torque-converter auto.

Pictured on Michelin slicks wrapped around bi-spoke wheels of the center-lock variety, the Vantage GT3 further differs from the road car by means of an exhaust system with side-exiting outlets. In addition to the FIA WEC and IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship, the latest evolution of the Vantage GT3 will also contest the Fanatec-sponsored GT World Challenge, European Le Mans Series, and the Nurburgring Langstrecken Series.

A collaborative effort credited to Aston Martin Racing and Aston Martin Performance Technologies, the new Vantage GT3 has a lot weighing on its shoulders. Lest we forget, its forerunners scored 52 class wins since 2012. That's 11 world titles, which is genuinely impressive. 30-odd units will be produced this year.

The road-legal sibling is due to arrive in a dealership near you for the 2025 model year with touchscreen infotainment, a punchier V8, and wider tires (9.5 inches up front and 11.5 inches for the rear axle) developed specifically by Michelin for this model. AMG's twin-turbo V8 now makes 665 ps and 800 Nm, meaning 656 horsepower and 590 pound-feet. By comparison, the DB12 develops 680 ps (671 horsepower) and the very same 800 Nm of twist.
