"Naomi for Haiti" Lotus Evora Sports Cars Up for Grabs

Following the natural disaster that seriously affected the Haitians in January, more and more celebs and carmakers join forces to help the relief effort there. Such is the case with Lotus Cars and former supermodel Naomi Campbell, who will be auctioning eight special edition “Naomi for Haiti” Lotus Evora sports cars to support the cause.

The special edition Evoras are the work of Lotus Design Director Donato Coco, while also reflecting Naomi’s design direction. It combines the flag of Haiti with a special color scheme and feature a range of items that are meant to make these cars collector items.

"I am deeply saddened by the recent tragedy in Haiti. So many have been killed and severely affected by the earthquake - women and children in particular are most vulnerable in disasters. Fashion is universal, personal and touches everyone. I am delighted that Lotus Cars is supporting my Fashion for Relief charity and I am sure with such generous help we will raise crucial funds to help save the lives of women and children,"
Naomi Campbell said.

The cars will be auctioned at Naomi’s Fashion for Relief charity fashion show on February 18. The remaining special edition Evoras will be auctioned on the “Naomi for Haiti” website the following day, with bidding ending on February 28, 2010.

The total amount raised for the charity and the highest bidders will be announced at the 2010 Geneva Auto Show on March 2.

"It is a very admirable cause and we are proud to be supporting Naomi Campbell with her Fashion For Relief TM event in aid of the women and children affected by the terrible disaster in Haiti. The whole of Lotus is supporting this very deserving charity, with many working in their own time in order to raise money for the women and children affected by the earthquake in Haiti,"
Dany Bahar, CEO of Lotus Group, said in a release.
