MyFord Touch Still No Good, Says Consumer Reports

The Ford Taurus aims to be a more upscale alternative to that other Blue Oval sedan, the Fusion (which will be sold in Europe virtually unmodified as the Ford Mondeo).
However, despite the fact that Ford says it is a much more of a luxury car than the Fusion, Consumer Reports is not pleased with it at all, with the key negative characteristic being the newly-implemented MyFord Touch system.

While it may be “new and improved”, it doesn’t seem to work very well, with small fonts and buttons, further hindered by the fact that it is placed very deep in the oversized center console - almost out of reach. Also, it features touch-sensitive buttons, instead of regular ones, all throughout the lower part of the dash.

We hope this mediocrity doesn’t trickle down into the Euro-spec Mondeo, as the current model is the class benchmark in many areas, and has been since its launch, back in 2007.
