Moto Guzzi UK Unveils 1200 Sport Corsa Edition

Each time a manufacturer wishes to refresh consumer memory on its existence or simply want to boost sales, but launching a new model is out of the question, the solution comes in the form of a special edition. So is the case with the British division of Moto Guzzi, who have recently announced the release of a special edition 1200 Sport.

Specifically, the Moto Guzzi 1200 Sport is now available in a special edition red, white and gold ‘Corsa’ paint scheme, complemented by gold detailing and a two-tone saddle. However, this comes at no extra cost for the consumer.

This special edition is powered by the same unit as the regular 1200 Sport, namely a 1151cc V90 8v engine found in the new Stelvio NTX & Norge GT, delivering 105 horsepower at 7,000 rpm and 77 lb.ft. (105Nm) of torque.

The supple handling is delivered through Marzocchi forks adjustable for pre-load, compression and rebound damping along with a similarly multi adjustable rear shock. Lightweight Marchesini 3-spoke wheels complement the handling and quality feel. As for the exhaust system, this is a stainless steel two-into-one 3-way catalysed with Lambda probe.

Braking is taken care of by Brembo with twin 320mm discs with 4-piston radial calipers at the front and a single 298mm disc at the rear.

Shaft drive, a bikini fairing, a well-padded seat and lots of space for a pillion (under the removable seat cover) add practicality to the 1200 Sport sports tourer.

UK pricing for the 1200 Sport Corsa has been set by Moto Guzzi at £9,378 OTR. So far, there is no word on whether other markets will also get the respective model.
