Prepare to meet the Moto Guzzi Audace face to face in late May in the dealerships, and prepare for a kind of sobriety that's rarely met in this segment. Some might frown as we say that not all bikes need chrome, but taking a closer look will reveal the truth in these words.
Of course, one might push things into ridicule territory and claim that the Moto Guzzi Audace desperately needs chrome. This claim would only be hilarious and make riders in their right mind ask what's wrong with the guy. Audace is perfect the way it is and oozes a type of luxury that's not palatable for all.

A clean California 1400 platform

Mandello del Lario decided to ditch chrome when building this evil bike. The parts that needed to be accented were finished in polished aluminium and that was it. The Audace is a purist's bike and you can also tell this from the absence of any futile accessories and parts.

This is the only California 1400 without floorboards. The pegs stress the minimalist approach, while the absence of passenger pegs is also quite eloquent. If you feel like sharing the Audace with someone, you'll have to get the optional package that includes the pillion seat and second set of pegs.

Cue a small headlight, drag bars on tall risers, cast multispoke aluminium wheels, black collectors, the huge radiator and LED turn signals, plus the black rear shock springs and other similar details, all dressed in black.

On the tech side you have the same 1388cc, 96 hp (6,500 revs) transverse v-twin at your disposal. It produces 120 Nm (88 lb-ft) of torque at 2,750 rpm and is mated to a 6-speed overdrive gear box.

The dealers expect the first shipment in May, but the price was not revealed yet.
