The British automotive producer has now offered an exclusive sketch of the upcoming vehicle to autocar, with the image offering us a pretty good preview of the car.
The new vehicle will use a new approach for Morgan, being aimed at offering practicality. The company wants it to be suitable for everyday driving and even goes further than that, promising that the car will also be suitable for family use.
This means that the two seats in the back will offer a decent amount of space for adults and its luggage space will be big enough for the average family’s travel needs.
However, all this daily usability will not interfere with the vehicle’s performance area. Morgan told the aforementioned source that the EvaGT will come with a set of key features that define a perfect sports car. These include a balanced chassis, optimum weight distribution between the front and the rear axle, as well as short consoles. It will also be fitted with a hydraulic-only power steering system that will offer the driver a good idea of what the front wheels are doing.
The EvaGT will tip the scales at less than 1.3 tones, being based on the Morgan Aeromax’s platform and using BMW’s twin-turbocharged 3.0 liter straight six that delivers 302 hp.
The company added that the vehicle will enter production in 2012, with the pre-orders set to debut this weekend. The automaker plans to build an initial lot of 100 units.
