It looks like there is a gang of vandals in Arlington County that can’t deal with Toyota’s most successful hybrid around and started a full scale assault over their tires recently.
Arlington County Police reported that over 16 Toyota Prius that got their tires slashed around the area, a very unusual act of vandalism due to its concentration on a specific make and model.
“Arlington County has experienced a series of tire slashing in the past, but never the same make and model vehicle,” said the police department Public Information Officer Dustin Sternbeck.
People started to feel insecure knowing that vandals with knives are roaming around the neighborhood and hybrid owners fear that they will be the next victims in the tire-slashing spree. Local police couldn’t find too much evidence apart from a fingerprint from one of the Prius’ wheel arch, to which they didn’t found a matching delinquent from the data base.
Arlington County Police is advising hybrid owners to park their cars in the garage if possible and keep an eye for suspicious activity. They strongly suggest to call the department’s non-emergency line at (703)558-2222 as soon as something doesn’t feel right.
