Audi Sport has several new models in the works, and one of them is an even hotter version of the RS 6. The car was spied testing at the Nurburgring earlier this month, sporting revised aero and probably more power, and it is expected to add the GT suffix.
Where did we come up with this name? It was actually the division's head honcho, Sebastian Grams, who suggested a punchier version of the business super wagon that might be called the GT not long ago. Putting one and one together makes us think that this is that car.

Compared to the Audi RS 6 Performance, the RS 6 GT (name has yet to be officially confirmed) has a new front bumper with inlets that are more linked together. The grille is a bit shorter, and the front fenders have vents behind them. It appears that the side skirts are identical, and the wheels were sourced from the Performance model. Further back, it has a larger wing attached to the upper part of the tailgate. The rear bumper and diffuser were revised, and it has repositioned reflectors. As expected, the signature dual oval tailpipes soldier on.

Besides the more aggressive design, the upcoming range-topping version of the RS 6 Avant family will likely get some chassis enhancements for improved cornering. We do not know yet whether it will also feature uprated brakes, though it might in order to keep the added power in check. The RS 6 Performance enjoys 621 hp (630 ps/463 kW) and 627 lb-ft (850 Nm), 30 hp (30 ps/22 kW) and 37 lb-ft (50 Nm) more than the regular model. Reports suggest the so-called GT will be punchier and speak about different outputs ranging from 650 to 700 metric horses. If you ask us, the former seems more plausible, but that's our two cents.

When is the Audi RS 6 Avant GT due? Maybe sometime next year, and it could celebrate the retirement of the fourth generation. The Ingolstadt-based auto marque is already working on its successor, as we've seen two mules doing their thing in the open. We're talking about that RS 7 Sedan that currently mixes the looks of the A6 Sedan and RS 6 Avant, gearing up to become a proper BMW M5 rival. It will get plug-in hybrid power and might share its electrified V8 with the Porsche Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid. The latter has 690 hp (700 ps/515 kW) on tap and 641 lb-ft (868 Nm), though if it gets this assembly, it could be boosted to new levels, or that's what we think anyway. It will probably debut in 2025, and chances are it will grace our market for the 2026 model year.
