The Dodge Challenger is about as retro as you can get these days, and Mopar is taking things up a notch with the introduction of a new shaker hood kit. Like recent limited-edition Challenger models, this new kit gives owners of the 2011-2014 Challenger the ability to bolt a fully functional shaker hood adding to their car's classic, muscle car look.
Available at dealerships or direct from Mopar, this new shaker hood kit bolts right onto the 2011 and newer Challengers equipped with the 5.7-liter Hemi V-8, and it includes the aluminum hood and the air induction components. The price of the kit is $2,660, which obviously does not include labor (if you have the dealership install it) or paint.

Dodge points out that the shaker hood kit requires no drilling or modifications to the body, and the hood doesn’t interfere with any of the Skat Pack performance upgrades. Just like the factory-installed hood, this Mopar hood has been fully tested in both hot and cold weather conditions to ensure the cars operate just as they would have from the assembly line.

With the Mopar Challenger Shaker Hood kit, enthusiasts can create their own customized Dodge Challenger, upgraded with Shaker performance and appearance. The Mopar Challenger Shaker Hood Kit offers easy assembly and is designed and tested according to strict Chrysler Group engineering standards to perfectly complement the production Dodge Challenger, setting the kit apart from aftermarket options. We’re committed to supporting performance and our company’s strong muscle car heritage,” said Pietro Gorlier, president and CEO of Mopar.

In the last year, Dodge has offered two limited-edition Challenger models that came with a shaker hood, and both were extremely popular. The 2014 Challenger R/T Shaker was limited to just 2,000 units, which sold out in four days, and a starting price of $36,995. The Mopar ’14 Challenger also had the shaker hood, and all 100 examples of that car sold out in just a single day.

For 2015, the Challenger R/T and Challenger SRT can both come equipped with a shaker hood from the factory, neither of which appear to be limited production
