Dodge Scat Pack Kits Boost Performance, also Preserve Car Warranty

After making their debut at SEMA 2013, Chrysler announced that all three Scat Pack performance stage kits from Mopar will be supported by vehicle warranty if installation is made at an authorized dealer. The Stage 3 kit will pump out an extra 58 horsepower from the 5.7-liter HEMI engine that powers Dodge's 2014 Challenger R/T and 2014 Charger R/T.

In 1968, Dodge united its performance car enthusiasts by forming the Scat Pack Club, expanding the idea of factory-engineered performance kits. The latest generation Scat Pack factory stage kits allow Dodge owners to retain their vehicle warranty while extracting the maximum performance from their cars without the use of turbocharging.

For the 5.7-liter HEMI V8, the Scat Pack 1 performance stage kit includes a cold-air intake that provides increased air-flow into the engine, a low restriction oil filter, Mopar cat-back exhaust system and a new engine controller. This $2,195 kit will boost power by 18 hp and 18 ft-lb (24 Nm) of torque. For an additional $1,895 you can upgrade to the stage 2 Scat Pack, that promises an extra 30 horsepower over the standard engine's output by adding a Mopar performance camshaft, revised tiebars, heavy-duty pushrods and a new Powertrain Control Module (PCM).

Finally there's the top-tier stage 3 Scat Pack, ratching performance up by 58 horsepower and 47 lb-ft (63 Nm) of torque. It has an MSRP of $4,995 and it works in conjuction with the first two Scat Packs. Included features:

  • Mopar performance CNC-ported cylinder heads
  • Mopar hi-flow headers
  • Mopar hi-flow catalysts
  • Stage 3 performance PCM

Pietro Gorlier, President and CEO of Mopar, said: “By maintaining the vehicle warranty, we are demonstrating to customers our confidence in the kits, which were built to exactly complement the Dodge Challenger and Dodge Charger by working hand-in-hand with the engineers who use factory specs to create these vehicles — exclusive knowledge available only to Mopar.”
