Monster Aston Martin V12 Cygnet Rumored

The idea of big engines in small cars has been around for quite some time. Renault stuck big engines in the backs of its superminis a number of times, probably the most iconic being the mental Clio V6.
But we’d never have thought such a car would come from famed British maker of desirable automobiles Aston Martin. They have plenty of sweet handling machines, powered by V8 and V12 engines, but also a little front-wheel drive city car.

The little Toyota iQ-based Cygnet has never become the success they were hoping it to be, but perhaps with an infusion of muscle and testosterone, it could become something a whole lot more desirable.

Back in August, we heard the Cygnet was getting a V8 engine from the Vantage, presumably in the back. However, Autocar magazine now comes out with a new report saying it’s actually the 6-liter V12. How in the world did they manage that? The bonnet on a DBS is almost as long as the whole Cygnet.

Whether or not this latest report is true or not is up for debate, but the fact is this one-off probably exists. Customer special or April Fools Joke?
